360° Traditional Cache
Desert(B)Rats: We love this spot, but it's not been visited by many, and the windmill farm is about to make getting in here pretty much impossible for most people. Pulled the container today.[:(]

A full circle of views, and every mountain worthy of note for the entire county.
We headed out to find Bunchgrass Mountain Lookout, and ended up here instead to hide our retired Swiss Army first aid box. What a view--or, rather, what a series of views. Don't forget to enjoy them: Lassen, Burney, Shasta, Round, Fredonyer, the Eddies, the Alps, the Yolla Bollys. . .on a clear day you should be able to see them all, and more I didn't remember to list.
This is not a 365-day cache. The snows on this slope have been known to be pretty fierce, but the road up this far (5500' or so) is perfect for almost every vehicle in dry weather. There may room for concern on muddy days if you don't have a lot of traction, but the Big R was salivating at the thought of a dual-purpose motorcycle out here. Expect to find logging trucks on weekdays, and keep your eyes open for the recovering forest after the Fountain Fire. You will pass through land owned by one of the area's biggest lumber companies, Sierra Pacific Industries, and the replants are theirs. Thank goodness someone was able to get trees in the ground soon after the fire, even if they were heavy on the conifers, but the oak trees seem to be taking care of themselves, anyway. This is pretty country, even in August, so bring a camera. (Someone needs to post a sunset--we couldn't wait that long.)
