Geocache Description:

This cache is in a very nice, peaceful area and as the name says, it is a Chain of Lakes.

I placed a cache in this area in conjunction with Rambleon’s “Chain Lakes” cache that was placed the same day as this one. You can access this cache area coming from Cranbrook, by taking the Gold Creek road turning left onto TeePee Creek road, then right onto Plumbob road, and then turn left on the road that is Caven Creek. You will see a road to the right, take it and eventually you will see a sign that reads “Chain Lakes” and has florescent orange coloring around it. On the other hand, coming from the Bailey bridge way, turn left onto Newgate, then right onto Waldo, or turn left at Caven Creek road then onto the “Chain Lakes” sign road with the florescent orange coloring. If you take the Newgate road, you can go find Englishman Cache and once you have found that one, you must turn around and get onto Waldo and then onto the Caven Creek road. Newgate goes to Englishman, Waldo cuts over from the Newgate road to Caven Creek road. Caven and Newgate roads both join onto Teepee Creek road. Newgate road is the first one after the Bailey bridge, and is paved. Waldo and Caven are gravel roads. The coordinates I have for the turn to the Chain Lakes area coming from the Cranbrook way are: 49°12.822N by 115°23.964W. If you have any problems with the turn coords, see Rambleons' "Chain Lakes" cache as I am sure he has posted the turn coords too. (And maybe better directions too). Rambleon’s cache is the first one of the two in this area (so far), if you come from the Cranbrook way. I would really like to put some more caches out in this area as it is nice and peaceful. While Darroid and I were there, waiting for Rambleon to hide his cache, all was quiet, that is what I mean by peaceful. We did hear some birds singing and a young osprey was screeching away but other than that, it is real nice and peaceful. To access this cache you must go to the coordinates given and walk 27 paces and you will locate the small, round lock n’ lock container (careful of the ants that may have invaded the space). The coordinates will take you to a pile of rocks, some of which are purplish, that are on top of some pointy rocks splayed out like petals of a flower. Once you are at these rocks, this is when you have to take the 27 steps, (my size steps). I am sure you will realize that if you were to walk 27 steps in a "certain direction", it is not the correct way, so use your Geocaching noodle and you should discover the cache easily. In addition, let’s hope the water doesn’t rise too much. This is my first attempt at placing a cache that it is not at the given coordinates so forgive me if I goofed up and correct me if I am wrong on anything, other than my size steps. I do not have big feet but this cache is easy to locate if you know where I have hidden some of my other caches. The starting contents are: Wee Geobutton. Pattycat Geobutton. Red smiley face guy.
