Geocache Description:

EGS: Eagle Guidance System was created by a muggle who is unaware of the benefits of GPS technology. While minimally helpful for those of us who are aware of the global positioning system, it is still entertaining and provides an excellent perch for our national bird, the bald eagle!

Original cache contents are either from a different location which could be added to the EGS, related to the bald eagle, or typical caching swag. A few of the items are:

  • Deck of bald eagle playing cards
  • Grayson, the White Jeep TB
  • Canada hackey sack
  • Hardware Hank sew on patch
  • Disposable camera
  • A logbook & a couple of pencils (please leave with cache)

Your task:
Please “add” your town or location of choice to the EGS! Point in the direction of your addition and snap a photo of yourself with the camera in the cache. If possible include your "addition" and the distance to it in the photo. Make sure to provide the photo number in your log and the pictures will be posted online once the camera is full. If you have a digital camera you could do this yourself as well.

Nov 2006 Update
A vandal has removed and destroyed the EGS. It was eventually found in a creek a couple of miles away. The EGS is not going to be replaced, although the cache will remain hidden where it is.

May 2008 Update
Cache has been moved a bit due to a tree being removed and some recent "muggle activity" with the cache.

The cache is now on private property and you have permission to seek it. Once there you will be able to figure out where it is pretty easily. I just ask that you park on the road and walk rather than driving right up to the cache site (we are cachers, we can walk the 50' or so)!
