Every town on LBI has it's own little hidden parks and treasure....and soon they will all have a cache!
Holgate Beach is one of those great little beaches to take a stroll down, fish from, build sand castles on....whatever you like. Terrain rating is due to the soft beach sand, diffuculty rating is due only to how well this thing camo's itself in :)
You seek a medium sized lock-N-lock container covered in the usual green garb, hidden in the usual fashion. There are a few ways to get to this, but legal parking is to be had at the end of Long Beach Blvd (you can't miss it). You'll see that the town is conducting insect collecting trials, please don't disturb the containers...the cache is not near them. Just off the path, this is visible when standing in front of it, but like I said it camo's well. Stealth shouldn't be required at most times, but be wary of walkers intermittantly. Please do not go over/through any dunes to get to this-the trails lead the way! Please rehide as found (with covering camo and the hint) as I have found it virtually completely exposed on 2 occassions.
Please trade up/even or not at all. For those of you who do the benchmark thing, there's one just before you hit the beach from the parking area to your left. Enjoy!!
