Well, the name says it all, "THE Ravine". How you get there might be a different story. It really is not a difficult hide and the hike to it can be a great experience. Which ever way you get there, you should come back the other. The creek walk is just beautiful and should not be missed. A day after a rain, it can have water falls that seem to never end. Then at other times it looks to be like there is no water at all in one place of the stream, but returns further on to be a nice flow to form falls all through out the hike to or from the cache. There is a flume beyond the cache area that falls into a beautiful pool and a falls beyond that. The first time I was there I was able to get past it and enjoy the gully beyond, looking back at the flume and falls below it. The next time, I became part of the flume and was about to be washed into the pool below, with camera, two GPSs and a 50 cal ammo box. I managed to stop my slide before I was washed into a deep pool and onto Bo's back as he swam below. I laid there with the water covering my back, with my butt in the air protecting my camera and GPSs on my belt.
So be warned, stay out of the flume unless you are looking to go for a swim. The kids would have a agreat time here.
This is a fun cache and for those daring enough, as I was the first time, go below the falls for some spectacular picture taking. This also is the shortest route to #7 and will save you a longer and tougher hike.
