10/25/07: After years
of dealing with low quality cachers stealing, breaking,
plundering, and misplacing my caches, I'm exhausted. I have
tried to provide quality, creative, and original caches for
over six years, costing me a good amount of time and money.
Sometimes the only reward is yet another cut n' paste log
from a numbers-obsessed cacher. Coupled with the ongoing
damage at my caches, it just ain't worth it and it's not fun.
I will continue my normal maintenance visits but I am now
archiving all my caches if they are again ruined by LQCs (or
if the cache is controversial in any way). This process may
be quick or long depending on the cachers that come here. For
the enjoyment of future cachers, please take care of this
cache just as indicated below to help preserve this hide. I
do send a BIG thanks to all the high quality cachers who have
helped support me and my caches through the years. Much
appreciated! -CoolCache

Like any aerspace museum, the "Western Aerospace Museum" in
Oakland, CA is made possible only through the dedicated and ongoing
efforts of volunteers. Every plane, every paint job, and every
display is the result of their hard work. Receiving no money from
any government agency they rely on donations from museum visitors
and benefactors to save these historic warbirds and aviation
artifacts. Doing so is very expenisive. CoolCache extends a big
thank you to these guys for saving this part of our history!
I've been wanting to place this cache for a long time and
finally got around to it. Its purpose is to bring you closer to
these warbirds and not so much about the container or challenge
this time. If you just came back frustrated from my nearby
"Castaway" cache this could be a welcome and easy find for you.
If you have time and the museum's open, I recommend a visit if
you like planes and things that fly. But going inside the perimeter
is NOT necessary to find this simple cache. My other Martin Luther
King Regional Shoreline Park hides are nearby as is parking for
this one. Park at the boat launch or at "Castaway." Be careful of
the BUSY road which you'll have to cross; because of this I don't
recommend this one for kids. Also please NO metal objects in
container including coins... this will help preserve the retention
device.
Please sign the log small and legibly and no stickers please!
