Geocache Description:

Stay on the path until the last 10 feet. There will be cuckel burrs ripe this fall to stick you if you are not careful and a hole in the trail that will twist your ankle. Don't ask me how I know!!

I was only given permission to hide one in this preserve. Since this is a DNR site, do not pick or destroy any vegetation. The first half of the preserve, is the ruins of the Wilkinson Train station, built in the late 1800's and operated until the 1940's as a switching station and a place for Passengers and freight to exchange on their way, destinations North, South, East or West. Here is the intersection of the old Chicago Great Western R.R., and the Chicago, Iowa, and Minnesota R.R. The back of the preserve is Renrick Marsh and is a wetland. Go the extra steps after finding the cache, and explore the area. It will only take you about 20 min.
