Geocache Description:


This cache location provides an opportunity for you to learn about some of the African-American citizens
who lived or worked in this eastern North Carolina county and had a significant impact in their communities.

The purpose of the museum is to preserve, promote, and present African-American history, art, and culture
to all citizens of Wilson and the region in order to increase the awareness, understanding and appreciation
of cultural traditions and African-American contributions to society.

The museum is closed on Sunday and Monday, but is open Tuesday thru Friday from 9AM until 4PM and on Saturday afternoon from 12PM until 4PM.

My father (Ernest Hall, Jr.) is one of the pioneers whose accomplishments are recognized inside, so please take some time to tour the museum if it is open when you visit.

To avoid a trespassing violation, you should only be on the grounds at the museum between sunrise and sunset. The posted coordinates should take you to a spot where you can sit and survey your surroundings before beginning your search.

NOTHING needs to be disassembled, moved, or removed in order to retrieve the cache. Please do not damage the landscaping and please replace the cache container as you find it.
