The North Pole Cache Multi-Cache
DaveCool: This cache has become a bit stagnant, and I wasn't overly proud of it to begin with, so I'm going to call it played out. I hope all who found it enjoyed it. I will collect the various parts and pass the swag on to a less blessed cache ASAP. DaveCool

It has taken a while, but here is my first cache placement.
*** At the posted coordinates you will find the coordinates for a trailhead. ***
**** (The trailhead is not at the posted coordinates) ****
Please read the second and third sentence again carefully!
Parking at the trailhead is sketchy, so use your best judgement. As you follow the trail you will find the information needed to locate the final stage.
The final coordinates are:
N 36° 0_.___
W 080° 1_.___
N 36° 0A.BCD
W 080° 1E.FGH
As you start down the trail you will come to a set of steps with identical signs at the top and bottom. A= the number of letters in the first word plus the number of letters in the third word on these signs.
Count the number of vertical posts along one side of the walkway that crosses the first valley along the trail. Each side contains the same number of posts, so either side can be used. Both B & C are equal to the 2nd digit of this number.
Continue along the trail until you come to a dead end, and then keep going. (Yes, I know how stupid this sounds)
Continue along the trail until you encounter a set of steps that access the trail, but are not a part of the trail. Read the sign that is posted at this location.
D= the number of letters in first word minus the number of letters in the second word on this sign.
Continue along the trail and as you descend the next set of steps count the number of vertical posts supporting the railing. You will need this number in a few minutes. Lets call it "X". (That makes it sound exciting, eh?)
Continue along the trail until you reach a manmade structure which undoubtedly consumed a large number of taxpayer dollars. There are identical plaques at either end of this structure. On these plaques are what appears to be a name which consists of two initials and a surname.
E= the alphabetic position of the first letter of the surname. (A=1, B=2, C=3...)
F= the alphabetic position of the second letter of the surname minus four. (F=?-4)
G= the number of posts counted earlier minus three (X-3).
H= F-1.
Continue along the trail to the final coordinates and then enjoy the hike back to the car!
As of 1/07 the cache is packed FULL of goodies! I have included a disposable camera to take pictures of your sweating smiling selves, so please take a picture of something appropriate, and let me know when the camera is full. The final is a small ammo box, so please bring some appropriate swag.
Warnings and Disclaimers:
The method of this cache was intended to eliminate short cutting the hike, discourage trespassing, and reduce the risk of giving geocachers a bad name. Although I did not notice any hours posted, I would assume you should limit your hunting to daylight hours. The trail is in an urban area, but sections are very secluded, so a companion may also be a good idea. The reason for the cache name will be fairly obvious fairly quickly, but has nothing to do with the climate. It felt more like the equator than the north pole when I placed it. I recommend bringing something to drink, and bugspray (To avoid dehydration and exsanguination). Bicycles are allowed, but you will have to carry them up and down some steps, and there are some hills. The final is very close to the clearing. There is no climbing, wading, or serious bushwacking involved in getting to the cache location. The most you will have to do is push aside a spiderweb or very small limb. It is a small ammo-box, so hunt accordingly. I tried to make this very easy... The difficulty rating is only because of the length of the hike and some steps/hills on the trail. It is not near any thorns or geocacher's ivy, so long pants are not required. (I did see a few sprigs of ivy at toe level on one visit... watch your step if you wear sandals) See you on the trails!
Congratulations to Team Jum Jum on the FTF!
Sounds like it truly was a team effort!
