Geocache Description:

First part of cache is at posted coords.

This cache will take two or more trips to complete depending on how prepared you are.

Music, the universal language. There are so many types of music composed and performed all over the world. From Classical to Rap, all the way to Tibetan chants. Each genre is different than the next. So much goes into composing music. When it comes to composing music, theory is the basis of all. Notes, cadences, time signatures, key signatures, modes, rhythms, chords etc. In this cache, you will be discovering and learning basic music theory in addition to listening to several orchestral pieces.
In orchestral music, many titles are given to pieces such as “waltz” or “sonata” that give information such as time signature, and structure. The more you listen to orchestral music, the easier it will be able to tell what type of piece it is even without looking at the title. Orchestral music goes back hundreds of years. The style it is played and composed changes frequently. Orchestral connoisseurs can listen to any piece and determine what time period it was written and the ethnicity. Every countries music is unique. Russian music tends to sound very intense, whereas French music has a light feeling to it.
In movie scores, composers write music specific to the film. Film composers such as John Williams have written many scores to films. It is very interesting listening to the different styles of music he creates. From Star Wars to Indiana Jones all the way to Superman. He truly is one of the best composers alive today.

This is a multi cache as well as a puzzle. The first part of this cache will test your basic knowledge of music notes. Please take nothing out of the first part. Good luck and enjoy the show!
