Geocache Description:

Stuyvesant Cove is a park along the East River in Manhattan. There are great views sitting along the water line here. This is part of the Manhattan Green Belt Path and contains part of the bicycle path that will one day encircle Manhattan Island.



GPS reception here seems to be good, it should get you close enough to use your geocaching instincts. This cache is a camoflaged micro cache. There is only room for the log book, please bring a pencil. The container is a camo-modified Groundspeak microcache container. It has only been modified to accomodate the camoflage, the container still opens by unscrewing in the center. Please be careful not to rip off the camo while trying to open it. This cache was inspired by other clever microcaches we have seen including those constructed by Concrete Rat and Jake Bond. This park has been carefully landscaped to provide many semi-private corners where you can sit and reflect upon how a micro cache could be hidden (or write in the log). There is a nice shady, large, flat rock not too far from the cache for you to sit on while writing in the log. Please don't break any of the park rules, it should not be necessary.
Or visit the Solar1 house nearby to see how alternative energy is being used. They have an interesting array of windmills operating on weekends.
