ABOUT THE CACHE:
This cache was originally designed and placed by GeoWomyn_SF_CA. It was adopted by The Owl and The Pussycat in March 2013..
Cache is located near the historic Johnston House which is open for touring on the third Saturday of every month (11-3PM). Near the house there is another historic building-The Kelly Ave. Train Depot. If you continue past the depot about 1.25 miles there is an entrance to the Burleigh Murray Ranch State Park. Parking is available for a short hike to a barn and shed from 1889. Depending upon the time of the day, this is a good place for bird-watching or photography. The cache site itself is a good spot to bring a blanket or tarp (if it isn't too foggy) to sit on and spread out a picnic lunch. You will enjoy the view. There is another cache nearby too. Please park in the designated parking for the Johnson House. Do NOT park in the rural gravel driveway to a residence.
Besides your usual log signature and internet posting of your find, we think you should not make this a cache-and-dash. Instead have fun with this cache and try this with the supplies located within the cache.
1) Draw and color a strange creature that does not exist-- consisting of two or more parts. Your creature must include one or more eyeballs. Examples of creatures:
- a pig with wings
- a zebra body with a head of a fish
- your head on the end of a giraffe
- a hamburger (with eyeballs) wearing a Mohawk, and walking on spider legs
2) In your log describe the strange creature you drew.
You do NOT have to be an artist to accomplish this, all you have to do is give it your best effort. If you have kids with you, have them give it a try. You can draw your picture at home and glue it (bring your own glue) in the log (3" X 5") or you can sit on the ground and draw it there. Colored pencils and crayons and a sharpener are in the cache. Please leave these items in the cache for the next person. Trades of small items are welcome if they fit in the cache. Please secure the cache box tightly to prevent moisture into the box. You don't want to ruin your drawings!
Relax and have fun with this! If you prefer, you need only find and sign the log.
