Geocache Description:

Based on feedback logged, cache difficulty rating was reduced from a 3 to a 2.

Location is a small and very old town cemetery. This cemetery has many prolific village residents buried here. The land for the cemetery was donated to the village by Hezekiah Barker and it's first burial was in 1807. The cemetery inters 15 Revolutionary soldiers. There are some interesting historical markers in the cemetery. Take some time to look around at some of the very old stones here.

There is also a monument to Alfonzo Cushing who died defending "the Angle" in the battle at Gettysburg during the Civil War.

Permission has been granted to place this cache by the Town of Pomfret Highway Supervisor who maintain the cemetery. The cache is very well hidden. Log only. Please BYOP and replace cache EXACTLY as found.

Have Fun!!
