Geocache Description:

It is said that the earth's circle which the human race inhabits is torn across into many bights, so that great seas run into the land from the out-ocean.

The cache is located in the picturesque village of Rezovo, which is the southernmost settlement along the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. It lies at the mouth of the Rezovska river and at the foot of Strandzha Mountain, some 100 km south of the city of Burgas. The Rezovska river marks Bulgaria's natural boundary with Turkey. It was named after the Thracian king Rezos that kingdom was fighting for the Troyans. 3 km north of Rezovo, on the Kastrich cape have been discovered a small Medieval fortress. It was called Kastrition and its size was 20x30 m. In the past, Rezovo was a sea port. It was a big village and as of then existed in the map. The Caucasian pirates (lazi) fell upon the village and it was shifted inland. In the beginning of the 20th century the village arose on its current location and a church named St. Constantine and Elena was constructed. In 1955, there were 90 houses in Rezovo, but the village gradually declined because of its location on the boarder zone. In the last 10 years the village picks up again and is an ideal place for vacation. 25 people reside permanently in this village, but this number increases during the summer.
The village of Rezovo was founded in 1905 but access was not allowed to outsiders before 1989.
The Strandzha Mountain Natural Park was established in 1995 and although it is the largest Natural Park in Bulgaria it is the least explored. The mountain has a lot of caves, traces of ancient civilisations such as stone figures, sun discs carved in stone, Thracian dolmens, etc. 5 km south of the Sinemorets village, on the road to Rezovo village, is situated the last beach strip before the Bulgarian boarder with Turkey. A 1 km long black road, winding about a forest, leads to a large parking lot. A little past the park, there is a fine view. Silistar is probably the most beautiful bay in the Black Sea. The sea is calm and the water is crystal clear. The beach strip is about 1 km long and around 50 m wide. It is covered with golden sands and gently slopes into the sea. Tourists can get cool in the caf?, situated in the end of the beach strip. Rare and protected bird species such as Imperial eagle, Black stork, Special Dove, etc nestle in the rocks and the dunes around Silistar. Sand lily grows on the beach. Silistar has been declared a protected area since 1992.

The cash is a glass jar and is placed in the bulgarian border area. You can access the Rezovo village free but be sure to have your passport with you (ID card for bulgarians). Please, hide the cache well after you find it and log your visit. The cache has also a local maintainer.
