This cache is located on a road off Rt. 346. The road number is 202 and many know it as the Boat Road. You can either hike or drive to the cache area. We got the coords as close as we could with the tree cover. Let us know if they are way off. During hunting season, remember to dress in bright colored clothing and be respectful of the hunters. Our Cache-per the Friendly Cache is located on this same road.
Recently heard Norman Greenbaum's "Spirit in the Sky" played at a funeral and realized, believe it or not, it is actually appropriate for such an occasion.
When Greenbaum first released the single, it sold two million copies in 1969/1970. The song contains lyrics about Jesus and the afterlife; however, it was never intended to proselytize for Christianity, but was instead a social commentary on popular religious belief.
The song has been featured in many movies including "Apollo 13", "Ocean's Eleven", "The Longest Yard", and a personal favorite, "Michael".
"When I die and they lay me to rest, gonna go to the place that's the best. When they lay me down to die, goin' up to the spirit in the sky."
