Pirate Cache II: The mountain's Crest Mystery Cache
Hicita: ### Geocache Owner Action Needed ###
We take "needs archive" logs seriously. If you're a new cacher, please use this feature with caution. In many instances, a "needs maintenance" log will suffice rather than jumping to needs archive.
It appears this listing is indicating issues needing addressed by the CO. The recent logs may contain more details about what sort of issues are evident.
Please visit the container quickly when any logs indicate there is a problem. If you're unable to visit the geocache promptly, you'll need to disable the listing.
What to do next?
- Post pertinent information with the 'Write Note' log type asap.
(If you're encountering unusual circumstances for ongoing issues, post a note every 30 days so the listing doesn't appear abandoned)
- Visit the container and provide maintenance as needed.
- Update the posted coordinates (if necessary) making sure they are accurate.
- Confirm the geocache's trackable inventory.
- After the geocache is up to the standard, then post an Owner Maintenance log.

Notice (Updated 5/30/21)
Since the first cache has gone missing, here is the sentence to help you out: "one day some geocachers found a box in the woods". We confirmed that this cache is accessible without crossing any fence lines- just requires some route planning.
Pirate cache II: The Mountain's Crest Note: If you have not found Pirate Cache I: The Curse of the Mountain, you need to find it before breaking the code. It is much harder to break the code without finding the first cache! With the release of the 2nd Pirates of the Carribean movie, I felt that this cache deserved a good sequel also. So, the story continues! Here it is, right from where you had left off.
As you climb the mountain searching for the treasure, you wonder how Blackbeard was able to get here with a heavy treasure chest. Then you notice a small container in a crevice in the rock. You pull it out, wondering if it could be the treasure. You open it up and are dismayed to find that all it contains is a bunch of toys! On the lid, you notice some faded writing. You brush the dirt off it and strain to read it. On it has some words and a "random" bunch of letters.
The letters are: N EE° DO.NDE W _OD° _O.S_M As you look at them, they start to look like a set of coordinates. You wonder if the set of words printed on the inside of the box may be a key to decode them. Then you think back to the first code. You remember " _ means zero, there are no 1s in the coordinates, and that 33 shows the correct way." You think about that a little further, and you realize that if you want to get the treasure in one trip, you will have to decode on the trail. Just remember that there are nice rocks to sit on while you crack this code up on stone mountain. Now comes the hard part. Remember the hints for cracking the code, and also remember that the words in the first cache are necessary. If you still haven't found my first cache, go find it!
Remember: follow Leave No Trace practices such as staying on marked trails, complying with posted signs, minimizing impacts to plants and fragile mountain habitats, and always packing out trash. Stone Mountain has done a great job restoring the lichen population on the rock- please walk carefully and avoid damaging it.) While searching for the cache, be sure to follow Lift-Look-Replace practices and put all stones or logs back where you found them.
