Cache is located at the Audubon Hawk Watch At Waggoner’s Gap.
The main site sits on the spine of the mountain 75 yards east of
the highway. This site is essentially a rock pile with steep
descents on both sides. This enables watchers to see both sides of
the ridge from one spot. Be sure to wear decent hiking shoes as the
ascent is very rocky. Once there, a picnic would probably be very
nice.
Depending upon the time of day or the time of year, birders from
the area might be found counting the number of raptors, collecting
and compiling the data, and having it reported on their
website.Click Here to visit
their official website and find out more about how to spot, count,
and report on the different types of raptors that frequent this
area. But aside from the importance for birders, it may be one of
the few spots where one can view most of the Cumberland Valley as
well as a nice portion of farmland across Perry County.
To find the cache, follow the "orange" birds up the path until
you get to the overlook. Enjoy the views and then begin looking for
the cache soon after you begin your descent. Cache is a decon
container.
