25 year old cache has been stolen so don't visit until I can replace. Enjoy a magnificent surprise view over the Severn valley south west towards the Malvern Hills. 19.8 Miles
NO LONGER THERE THE AMUNITION BOX HAS BEEN STOLEN AFTER 25 YEARS.
The route to the cache is only a short walk and can be reached via any one of several rights of way. These can be accessed from the following coordinates 52° 16.663N 1°57.945W (two stiles and a short steep hill) or 52° 16.595N 1°57.475W or 52° 16.433N 1°57.282W or 52° 16.369N 1°57.471W (both one stile and fairly flat) the parking at all of these is less than ideal but you can usually find room on one of the verges. There is parking at the local pub (52° 16.439N 1°57.053W) which is not far off and always has a friendly welcome.
I hope you will enjoy the short walk and the magnificent view over the Severn Valley south west towards the Malvern Hills.
There are usually young bullocks in the field they are used to walkers and sometimes act a bit friendly and follow you thinking you are the farmer about to feed them. Ignore them if you can and they will leave you alone. If you feel intimidated make a loud noise and they will run off.
If you fancy a longer walk I have included a few suggestions (with maps) in the cache, all are circular and bring you back close to the cache, replace them if you can but don’t worry if you don’t I can print new ones if you let me know.
We walk past this view most days and it never disappoints, there is always something new to focus upon, a buzzard or a gold finch, a fox or red deer, the Forest of Dean or the Cotswolds.
See if you can work out haw many other Caches can be seen from here?
