Geocache Description:

Last night, while sitting around the campfire reminiscing, I was inspired to make a cache and fill it with some of the memories we shared. I knew immediately where to hide the cache, it's a place I came on many a childhood afternoon. We would go there by boat, park right along side, sit down and dangle our feet in the water. It's hard to believe today since the water doesn't come close to here anymore (trust your GPS).

The things we put in the cache are:
- A bag of campfire ashes to share the memories and laughter we enjoyed last night (it's a Scouting thing).
- We would often play cards at night, when not sitting by the fire so I added a deck of cards. These cards are kind of knotty though.
- On some nights we'd play a dice game instead so one die went in.
- Many of my friends and myself learned to water ski here so a piece of the old boat motor was added.
- My friend’s daughter found a nice shiny stone on the beach and asked to add it to the cache.
- Another rock, this one is a good flat skipping stone.
- Some lapel pins my dad collected from various places my mom and dad traveled.
- An old paintbrush that reminds me of the stuff that always needed fixing or painting around the cabin.
- A baseball card -- this one's not very old but I did collect them at one time.
- A jumping pin game. I don't remember all the rules but I think you have to get your pieces to the other side.
- An old Cub hat.
- A measuring stick. It's for the doorframe in the cabin where family's and visiting friends' height has been marked off over the years. My own boys have grown a lot hanging out here.
- One bent nail for the cabin itself. My dad built this place himself and I bent a nail or two helping out.
- A kite string handle. I spent many hours flying kites on the beach by the cabin, now my youngest son is doing the same.
- A rope with some Scouting knots in it. Both of my sons learned quite a few knots here.
- A wash cloth, to keep the memories clean.

We also enjoyed smores and a great show of Northern Lights.

So now it’s your turn, please add your own memory and tell us about it.

Note:
You don't need to go down the road with the "no trespassing" sign. You can access the beach from the main road and you will have to walk or quad from there.
