10/25/07: After years
of dealing with low quality cachers stealing, breaking,
plundering, and misplacing my caches, I'm exhausted. I have
tried to provide quality, creative, and original caches for
over six years, costing me a good amount of time and money.
Sometimes the only reward is yet another cut n' paste log
from a numbers-obsessed cacher. Coupled with the ongoing
damage at my caches, it just ain't worth it and it's not fun.
I will continue my normal maintenance visits but I am now
archiving all my caches if they are again ruined by LQCs (or
if the cache is controversial in any way). This process may
be quick or long depending on the cachers that come here. For
the enjoyment of future cachers, please take care of this
cache just as indicated below to help preserve this hide. I
do send a BIG thanks to all the high quality cachers who have
helped support me and my caches through the years. Much
appreciated! -CoolCache

Once the site of the engineered "Hyperdrive" cache, this new cache
container stands in its place to keep the location alive (at least
until I archive my caches when I leave caching). Despite being
quite innovative (nothing like it in the entire US except my other
one) with an original writeup and imagery "Hyperdrive" experienced
a surprisingly lukewarm reception and had few visits. Amazingly,
some more delicate types even complained of about the location. But
maybe they just weren't perceptive enough... see picture I took
below of one of the site's visitors (Blue Heron).
"Hyperdrive" was A LOT of work to build and maintain but kinda'
had little payback for me in the visitation logs (with some great
exceptions). As such it was shutdown forever here and removed by
me, Jun 2, 2007. Interestingly its twin Krypton in Salt Lake City, also a CC
placement, has been super popular with lots of fun loggings.
This was actually an experiment to see how the same cache would
play in the Bay Area.. now I know. Fortunately the SLC
counterpart motors on in that great geo-community providing much
amusement.
Anywho I now replace HD with this new 'commemorative' cache,
another CoolCache original just simpler. Please sign every line, no
geo-stickers, and replace exactly as indicated. And may the force
be with... uh... oh never mind.
Blue Heron at "Chump Cache" site... no joke!
>>>> 09/27/07: Please put back proper... found it just
laying out in the trees. New hint will help replacement.
Another CoolCache original.
