Geocache Description:

“Pyramids of Mars” is a classic Dr Who episode from 1975 featuring the fourth doctor, Tom Baker.

Location filming for Pyramids Of Mars took place on the grounds of Stargrove Manor in East End, Hampshire. At the time, the property was owned by Mick Jagger, lead singer of the Rolling Stones. Work at Stargrove began on April 29th, and continued until May 2nd. This was followed by three days of model filming, from May 7th to 9th, at the BBC Television Centre Puppet Theatre.

Stargrove House was also used as a Priory in another Doctor Who episode “Image of the Fendahl” in 1977.

The co-ords given are for a micro from where you can catch a glimpse of Stargrove Manor, the co-ords in the micro will take you to the nearby cache, a small black lunchbox in which are various Dr Who related goodies , including a sonic screwdriver for the first to find, if they so desire it! We would like to keep the cache Dr Who/space/time themed, so please bear that in mind when making swaps.

We suggest you take the path starting at GATE as below. There are other paths to the cache but none have safe parking. The recommended parking at SUGG as below is close to a small primary school so please take extra care during school time. From here it is a 500 yard walk up a single track road which turns into a bridleway near to the starting gate. There is closer parking at ALTN, however there is only space for 1 car.

There are a couple of dog friendly stiles en route, the ground is uneven in parts and may be a little muddy come winter.
