Geocache Description:

You and your family are invited to
The 5th annual GeoCaching Event
by the Lacy Family.
At the McIntosh Reserve.
Camp out, create and enjoy your favorite cook out food,
mixed with some GPS fun thrown in.

This event will be all day Saturday Sept. 30th 2006 beginning at 10am until dark, or overnight if you like.

Each person or group is asked to bring a sack lunch. Don't forget to bring your coffee and donuts, for Sunday morning.

For the evening meals you may join the group and eat family style or do your own thing.

There are no stores for miles. Make sure to bring everything you need. — civilization is far away. There will be two hikes, one just before lunch, and one Mid afternoon. Both hikes will have some neat sites and some gps finds. There may other hunts near the camp. A drawing for some good door prizes will be after the days hikes, around 6pm. You must be there to win.

The coords will bring you to the fire ring we will use for the evening fire. We will have campsites numbers 5, 7, 10, & 12 for Friday and Saturdays Nights. There are no tent pads, we can put as many tents per site as we want, and have room for. If you are traveling a long ways, or just up the road, you may join us Friday night for a two nighter. Thanks to Birdies, she negotiated a pay per person of an exorbitant fee of $2/per person/day. Thats man, woman, child and even infant, but its only $2/day/night.
Do not paid at gate. Tell them you are with the Lacy Hiking Group. Johnnie and Allen will take up the money and paid a lump payment for the group. The gate will close at 10pm, but we will have a key. Be sure if you are arriving late That you have some ones cell number that is there in our group.

No firearms. No OBVIOUS alcoholic beverages, NONE outside of your private camp area. PLEASE no walking around with a Bud in your hand.
Dogs are permitted if they are on leash, same for horses. Dogs and horses are free though. So folks can bring all the well-behaved dogs and horses they want for free, but you might not want to bring all the neighborhood kids, as they're all $2 a head weather they are well-behaved or not. Fires are restricted to the fire pits. Birdies picked us what she thought was the nice one. They generally try to provide some wood for use, but we suggest that given our enjoyment of the fires we have had in the past, we that have fire wood, continue to load up some wood to bring as well.

There are water spigots scattered through the site. There is a playground adjacent to us. Not far away are some MOD-URN facilities!

Please be WARNED all drivers that when going through Whitesburg, Georgia one must assume it is as scurrilous a place as Ludiwisci, Georgia was back with Lestor Maddox was Governor back in the 60's. Ludiwisci was FAMOUS as the most notorious place for out-of-towners to get tickets for speeding. Whitesburg STRICTLY enforces their speed code.

The McIntosh Reserve is located down Hwy 5, just below the turn off for Bob's Fish Farm. To get this far, you will have to drive around one of the THREE "round abouts" that are in Georgia so far. About five years ago they put up a round about in Whitesburg and one in Roopville. After one year, they had less accidents at the intersections with the round abouts than in the years pervious when they were 4-way stops. As a result of this research, you will now see more round abouts popping up around Georgia.

We will be close to the amphitheater (plans are in the works for a movie at dark Saturday night) and the large, round pavilion. There may be weddings or other events scheduled there and we're expected to mind our manners and not whoop or spit or make nasty comments about the bride during the ceremony. It is a short walk to the river, and there is a nice overlook and if it's warm enough and you feel that we're far enough downstream from Atlanta that you're brave enough, there are some shoals there that I guess brave hearts or fools can go play or fish from.

Remember helping Bubba set up his farm last year?
The Game will be centered around his farm again this year.
