Geocache Description:

NOTE: THE CACHE IS NOT LOCATED AT THE ABOVE POSTED COORDINATES!!!

As noted, the cache is not at the listed coordinates. In fact, I believe they would lead you to the middle of the Stony Plain Golf Course - A great track if you have the time to play a round.

Well here is another cache where you have to do use the grey matter and solve a puzzle in order to get the proper coordinates and this time it's a simple Sudoku Puzzle - well maybe not that simple as there is a bit of a twist. There are no numbers in the puzzle - rather the puzzle will contain all the letters in the words STONY PLAIN. As you can see, there are nine different letters in our Towns name and they correspond to numbers. You must use the exact same rules as a normal Sudoku puzzle where-by letters cannot be repeated on any horizontal or vertical line and cannot be used more than once in any individual small set of 9 squares.

The puzzle is a .jpg just below the online map portion of the listing (above the logs portion).

Once you have solved the puzzle and all the letters have been used in accordance with Sudoku rules (there is only one unique solution to the puzzle) then you will be near to solving the coordinates for the cache.

The cache location is at:

N 53 ST.ONY &
W 113 PL.AIN

The numbers in this set of coordinates are NOT the same as in Mama's Charming libations cache as the two caches are totally unrelated, other than I found another set of coordinates that worked to the same theme as that one - lucky me.

Back to the cache coordinates ... you need to look at the centre row of letters - they will be all jumbled up and not spell anything (or at least they shouldn't). Those letters equate to the numbers 1 through 9 left to right and in that order. Now you should have a unique set of coordinates to find the cache.

Original Cache Contents:

Keychain Compasses (2)
'Off' towelettes
Blinking Canada Flag Pin
Hook Keychain
Poker Chip Keychain
Bouncy Ball
Digital Watch
Matchbox Car

Now there is a FTF prize in the cache, being 2 gift cards from Boston Pizza - value unknown .... maybe $2 each or perhaps $20 .... another puzzle you say, you've got to be kidding!!

Have a great time with this cache and good luck!!
