Most people know the story of Francis Scott Key who was inspired
to write a poem after peered through clearing smoke to see an
enormous flag flying proudly after a 25-hour British bombardment of
Baltimore's Fort McHenry. Later this poem was set to music and
would become "The Star-Spangled Banner" but as a kid growing up
with my mother’s maiden name being Key as well, I was told
that I was also related to this famous person of American History.
My aunt in fact did some research and found that my grandfather and
grandmother Lindsey and Eula Key were in fact fifth generation
Key’s from the same line as Francis. My mother would always
remark that my grandmother saw quite a range of history, at an
early age actually traveling in a covered wagon on the Oregon Trail
to go out west and living long enough to see a man land on the
moon.
So if you have a chance, stop by and see some not so famous
Key’s on the way to this cache. Also check out this
beautifull cemetery passed by thousands of commuters every day.
Cache is a plastic container, with just room for a log book.
