Ahh, it's Saturday morning, the wife is at work, she left me alone.
What to do?
Cut the lawn? Nope.
Trim the shrubs? Naw.
Hike over three miles round trip to hide an ammo box along a creek? BINGO!
I love this part of Cazenovia Creek.
I have wanted to make the hike from Leydecker to Transit Rd. for a while now and today was the day.
I can't believe I made it.
Let me know what you can't believe.
This is no cache & dash.
If you want a challenge this is the cache for you.
The round trip from Leydecker to the cache and back is over three miles. Along the way you will see a large assortment of wildlife. Some of the critters that have been seen back here are deer, ducks, a blue Heron, geese, frogs, snakes, fish, wild turkey, and more.
The terrain is a mix of rocky creek bed, muddy deer trails, gravel banks, and scratchy bushwhacking. The cliffs are impressive as they rise above you.
I am sure you can get to this cache a shorter way, but I don't know what it is. If you make the trip from the listed parking and back I will put you on the list of real tough cachers.
So, for all your hard work you will get,
A smillie added to your cache count.
Your name on a list.
And a sense of accomplishment.
This cache is NOT a walk in the park.
Start your hike early enough to complete before it gets dark.
Know your limits and don't exceed them.
Be careful and have fun.

Just a bit of added info.
Acording to Cayuga Crew the actual distance hiked from the listed parking to the cache (are you ready for this?) just about 4.25 miles round trip! How do your feet feel now?
