Kätkö sijaitsee Konnuksen kanava-alueella Leppävirran kunnassa.
The cache is located on a Konnus Channel area in Leppävirta.
Konnuksen kanava sijaitsee Saimaan syväväylän varrella Leppävirralla Kuopion ja Varkauden välillä. Kanava yhdistää Kallaveden ja Unnukan. Noin 250 m pitkä kanava on rakennettu 1836-41, uusittu 1865-68, 1917-19 ja 1968-71. Kaksi vanhaa kanavaa on nähtävyytenä. Runsaan veden aikaan alue on parhaimmillaan.
Kätkö sijaitsee kanava-alueella ja kätkölle pääsee aivan turvallisesti, kun muistaa noudattaa liikennevaloja. Auton voi jättää kanava-alueen parkkipaikalle. Kätkö on 0,3 litran pakasterasia.
Kauimmaisessa saaressa on laavu ja nuotiopaikka.
Kätköreissulla kannattaa käydä katselemassa maisemia myös Leppävirran sillalta, joka sijaitsee lähempänä Leppävirran keskustaa n. 6 km ennen Konnuksen kanavaa.
Konnus channel is located by the Saimaa ship route in Leppävirta between Kuopio and Varkaus cities. The channel connects Kallavesi and Unnukka lakes to each other. The 250 m long channel has been built 1836-41, renewed 1865-68, 1917-19 and 1968-71. The old channels still exist as tourist attractions. During flud time the area is at its best.
The cache is located on the channel area and can be reached safely if you only remember to obey the traffic lights. You can leave your car on the channel park area. The cache is a 0,3 litre plastic box.
On the furthermost island there is a lean-to shelter and campfire place.
Also the scenery from the Leppävirta bridge is worth of seeing. The bridge is located on your way to Konnus channel, closer to Leppävirta center, about 6 km before the channel.
