The cache is located on the southern edge of the former wartime USAF base at Deenethorpe and is very close to a fitting tribute to the brave crews of the 401st Bombardment Group, who flew 254 missions over Germany and occupied Europe between October 1943 and May 1945.
A large lay-by (not normally busy) is located right next to the cache, on the east-bound side of the A427, where you will find ample parking.
Although this cache is very close to the memorial mentioned above, it is not hidden on or behind the memorial stone, so please don't enter within the chained-off area, or search in the bush behind the stone.
In fact, if you have reached the stone, you have already walked past the cache!
Please remember that this is a tiny nano-type cache and so no room for a pen or pencil, so please bring one with you.
Unfortunately, due to the presence of a small kerb and a narrow pathway, this cache may not be suitable for wheelchair users, so we will reflect this in the terrain rating.
