A Little Bird Told Me –Tribute to Kootenay Pirates Traditional Cache
Groundhog & Shadow: Will have to archive this one as not able to get down that way to maintain it regularly like it should be. Hopefully someone else will use the area to hide a cache.

This micro is situated in Adam’s Bird Sanctuary, a Summerland Rotary Club Project, off of Peach Orchard Road in Summerland. The micro won't be seen by those walking on the trails, and can be retrieved with a reach. Parking coordinates are listed below.
This sanctuary has various habitats for the birds all rolled into a tiny area. There’s some marsh, a creek, some forest and a little meadow. Entering at the gate, stay left on the path. You’ll soon be on a boardwalk and once off it, the cache is not far off. We placed this cache as a thank you to the community of Summerland for our enjoyable short stay in the beautiful municipal campground across the street from here. The managers are helpful and friendly, the rates real reasonable, and the campsites are roomy & well treed with a creek running through. Also thanks to the geocachers in the area who have put out caches that we’ve enjoyed finding. The Kootenay Pirates, our geocache idols, are avid cachers from the Nelson/Castlegar area of the West Kootenays with over 6000 finds (now 80,000+ as of June 2019) and 78 hides (400+ as of June 2019) under their belt. Often you'll find one of their geocache tokens or buttons/pins in a cache. As this cache is very similar to a cache we found in the West Kootenays by the Kootenay Pirates called “Another Fowl Cache”, we decided to use their name in this cache. They are also Alberta's reviewers. Thanks Mr. & Mrs. Pirate – sure glad we have met you! Forgot to mention too that they are reviewers for Alberta. Very, very busy people!
