Merlin's Magic - The Knights Series Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Southerntrekker: This cache has been in need of care and maintenance for some time and as the owner has not repaired/replaced it, I am archiving it.

Guidelines: "You are responsible for occasional visits to your cache to maintain proper working order, especially when someone reports a problem with the cache (missing, damaged, wet, etc.). You may temporarily disable your cache to let others know not to search for it until you have a chance to fix the problem. This feature is to allow you a reasonable amount of time - normally a few weeks - in which to check on your cache. If a cache is not being maintained, or has been temporarily disabled for an unreasonable length of time, we may archive the listing."

If you wish to email me please send your email via my profile (click on my name) and quote the cache name and number.

Geocache Description:

Merlin's Magic

The cache is a regular Ammo Box.

The coordinates given are not for this cache. This was part of a two stage multi involving The Sword in the Stone. Unfortunately, that cache is now archived as repairs were impossible after someone left the cap off and allowed the inside to get wet. So here are the coordinates N 53 00.596 W 003 10.097 until I get a kind mod to fix it all

Thoroughly dejected, Merlin made his weary way home. It had been a tough few days, what with failing to complete the Sword in the Stone properly AND losing his wand ‘hopefully it won’t fall into the wrong hands’.

After a mile or two, thoughts of that ‘nice cup of tea’ drifted away to be replaced by thoughts of something stronger. After all, it would only be a short diversion from his route to pop in and visit Sir Gaheris who had only recently taken up residence in the area having come down from the wilds of Scotland. ‘Whisky Country!’

He was greeted with the familiar Scottish greeting;

“Ahh… Merlin my gaed man! You’ll have had your dinner then?”

He stopped just long enough to warm his bones and partake of perhaps more than a tipple of the amber nectar. Then, making his cheery goodbyes, he staggered off down the road to his hermitage by the stream. It was dark when he arrived and he had to scrabble around under the rock by the door for his spare wand in order to unlock it. Once inside, he falteringly pointed the wand at the fireplace and dutifully, a roaring warm fire ensued. Then came the inevitable requirement… CHIPS!

The results are still visible today. The burned out remains of his hermitage lie close to the cache although fenced off for your safety. There’s always a chance that some of Merlin’s dodgy magic still remains there and the HSE have made their mark as always.

So, a word to the wise, don’t go through the fence!
