The Elfin Abode Traditional Cache
Cache Sleuth: After being active for 15+ years, I have decided it is time to take this cache down. Thanks to all who have found it while it was in place.

Hidden in what appears to be the former home of woodland elves somewhere near the Salmon Run trail located at Summersville Lake.
The elves are long gone, but they left behind some really nice items. This is the largest cache I have hidden. The container is a rectangular, 2+ gallon size plastic sweater box. Initial contents are: a sewing kit, mini FM radio, Handy Grater, Bug Alert auto insect repeller, spinning dog top, cracked geode with quartz crystals, 4 children/family themed DVDs, set of combs, calculator tape measure, and a log book with pen & pencil.
The turn to the Salmon Run area is just south of Summersville, WV off U.S. Route 19. If travelling north, this is a left-hand turn. If coming south, turn right. Trail can be accessed from Airport Road (northern end), Salmon Run Boat Ramp parking lot (southern end), or at the mid-point via a connector trail after crossing Hypes Foot Bridge located along the road to the boat ramp. There is limited parking along Airport Road and across the road from the foot bridge. The entire trail is 2.1 miles, but the way to the cache is much shorter if you take the northern or mid-point route. Some bushwhacking will be required when you get close to the hiding place. The best spot to leave the main trail is at N38° 15.439, W080° 51.573 where you will see a wildlife trail going off into the woods.
Be sure to rehide the cache container exactly as you found it. Due to its size, it could be easily muggled, especially during hunting season. The box is not air tight, so please seal any trade items in one of the zip bags.
