Geocache Description:

This cache is a large ammo box fit for holding many Travel Bugs and plenty of trade items. It is located just off the Iditarod Dog Sled Race trail about a half mile before the first check point at the VFW in Eagle River. It is an easy cache to find and pick up or drop off travel bugs. You can access it easily off the Glen Highway (both north and southbound) at the Highland Road Exit. There is a pull off on the road near the cache.

The Iditarod Travel Bug hotel is for the easy transfer of travel bugs and trade items. The cache is a large camouflaged ammo box. It contains trade items and travel bugs all ready to go. As mentioned above - It is an easy cache to find and pick up or drop off travel bugs or other trade items. You can access it easily off the Glen Highway (both north and southbound exits) at the Highland Road Exit. The cache is also just off the paved bike trail (Anchorage to Peters Creek) that parallels the Glen Highway. On the first Saturday in March the Iditarod dog sled race begins in Anchorage on its first leg and ends in Eagle River. This cache is just located off the trail before the mushers cross the frozen river and enter Eagle River. More than likely you will cross the trial when locating this cache.
