The building at this location has led an interesting
history.
Originally the M. Fine & Sons Manufacturing Company owned
the building. When they relocated to New Albany, the building
served as a warehouse.
It was purchased in 1995 and opened a mere 66 days later as a
haunted house of the sort my brother used to love to attend.
Unfortunately for me, John and his friend Sean were also terrified
of these places, and made me take them through. They spent the
entire trip with their noses pushed firmly between my
should-blades, using me to shield them from the ghouls and ghosts
who leaped from every dark corner.
The property had not been used for a couple of years when I
first tried to get permission to place this cache. Amazingly, the
property was sold during the time I was trying to get permission,
and I had to start over again with the new owner. The location once
again is home to a seasonal business, and caching here in the
months leading up to Oct 31st may require you to plan the time of
your visit carefully.
Thanks to new owner Terry Campbell, for permission to place this
geocache! 1-18-2010 Update for post-season visitors: Although there
is a truck parked across the entrance gate to discourage drive in
visitors, you may walk in to the lot to geocache.
