Geocache Description:

The cache is at Castell Dinas Bran overlooking Llangollen on the Welsh Borders. It is a steep walk up to the site but the views on arrival are superb. This cache is part of the king Arthur series of Team Maddy. Please note the cache is not hidden in the walls of the ruin! Also take care as there are some steep drops around the walls. Thats why the castle was built here! watch the kids! and beware muggles this is a very popular spot.

Every King needs a castle and King arthur was no different. If the ancient legends are correct then Arthur came from this area and Castel Dinas Bran was his home.....Camelot.
Local legends have it that the holy grail once was kept here. Some believe it may still be hidden in the grounds or in an underground cavern with a golden harp and a golden Ox. Beware faries guard it.

Your quest is to find the treasure hidden here and at other Knights sites in the area.

There are 2 ways undertake the walk up to castle, direct from llangollen ( a long steep and tiring climb) or you can make it easier by parking at the side of the "panorama road" at N52 deg 58.893 W003 deg 09.162.
Be warned if you drive the direct road from Llangollen to this location it is a steep narrow and dangerous road (which degrades to a cart track) that will not take camper vans !!!!!! you have been warned.....go around.
