Geocache Description:

This cache is located on a quiet public footpath on the north side of the Garth Hill, about 2km from Efail Isaf. The terrain is fairly easy going, comprising of a footpath through fields. The cache is reasonably easy to find with 2 possible approaches from the east and west via a public footpath.

Cesair’s March 1 is one of a series of 3 caches based around the north side of the Garth Hill and Tyn Y Coed forestry. We have named the cache “Cesair’s March” after Nant y Cesair, a small stream running through Tyn y Coed forestry. The caches can be completed individually or as a trio by means of a circular walk.

The cache itself is a Tupperware container filled with trinkets, a log book and a pencil.

The cache is located on a public footpath which runs through fields to the north of Tyn Y Coed forest. The terrain is not difficult, however would not be accessible for prams / wheelchairs. As much of this walk takes place on farm land dog owners need to be aware that dogs will have to be on a lead for much of the time.

Should you wish to complete the series in one go as a circular walk, we have included below a set of waypoints. This walk is approx 3-4 miles and will take between 11/2 and 2 hours, it is not overly strenuous but there is 1 steep hill which requires a reasonable level of fitness. We started and finished the walk from the Caesar’s Arms car park. The Caesars serves excellent food and does a good pint of beer. If completing the series as part of this circular walk it is important to stick to the footpaths, the waypoints are given to make this easy. The walk will afford excellent views northwards over Llantwit Fardre area and southwards over Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.
