This cache has been placed to commemorate the life and demise of GC2066 “Careful With That Axe, Eugene” by Team Chaos, which in the 5 years since its establishment has recorded a very creditable 70 logged visits up until its recent loss by fire. Having been responsible for its maintenance over the past 18mths we are reluctant to let Eugene just disappear in a puff of smoke. It is now possible to drive to within 300m of this new cache, on a well maintained track, which leaves the main road at S36 49.054 E144 25.734, to a suitable parking and turn around point at S36 48.816 E144 26.484. On the way from here to GZ, by deviating slightly, you can visit S36 48.951 E144 26.578 the former site of 2066, now a mere hole in the ground. Proceeding on to GZ you will be searching for a 1.6L clip top container holding the usual log book, pen and a collection of trinkets suitable for exchanging if required.
