We thought the lesser-used end of Mt. Herman needed a cache.
Everyone goes to the real summit at the north end with a great eastward view, but the south summit is also very nice. The panorama from the cache includes the Tarryall and Kenosha mountains and several fourteeners like Mt. Evans, Longs Peak, and of course Pikes Peak and pretty much all of Rampart Range.
Take the Mt. Herman Trail (716) to the saddle, then head south. The trail is less distinct than the main trail to the north summit. Don't miss the Bottomless Pit at N39 04.696 W104 55.524 on your way past.
The cache is a plastic jar with a log, pencil, and small trade items. It's hidden pretty well to prevent muggling.
