Off trail a wee bit... nothing but aspen and pine. To the south you will find large salamanders near the standing stones.
Located at an elevation of around 7000 feet in the South Fork of Mink Creek in the Caribou National Forest. There are several ways to get here but only one by car. This is a fun area. It can be managed in a small car but be prepared for dirt roads and some bumps. Motorized vehicles allowed thru Fall then in winter on foot, skis, horseback, or snowmobile.
This is a nice area where my children and I like to picnic. Beautiful views of Scout Mountain, flowering meadows, and abundant wildlife.
