Geocache Description:

**WINTER FRIENDLY NOTICE**
THIS CACHE SHOULD BE WINTER FRIENDLY. IT IS DEPENDANT ON THE WEATHER CONDITIONS, AND THE WALK IN MAY BE DEEP IN PARTS.

The shoreline trail is one of 3 well-maintained trails on Change Islands, and is the newest trail in the series. The trail follows the coast and coves of Change Islands.

The trail passes through previously inhabited parts of this island (i.e Woody Island Tickle, Red Rod Cove)which were dotted with salt box houses, stores, and stages. These coves were abandoned in the 1960’s when resettlement was issued by the government. There are very few remains of these premises because most of them were floated to their new locations in Change Islands.

This cache is located just off the trail in Red Rod Cove. The cache is a personal sized ice cream container that has been camouflaged. When searching for this cache, picture this area how it was during its prime: salted fish drying, children playing pedley, boats fishing off the coast, and woodstoves cooking supper.

As always, leave this cache how you found it, or better. Check out the other trails on the island and the other caches that are waiting to be found.
