Geocache Description:

This nine-step Geocache takes you on a historical journey through the town of Ontario as a way to celebrate the town’s Bicentennial (1807-2007). At each stop you will be gathering information that will help complete the coordinates for the final cache site. Enjoy this exploration of Ontario and the past! The final coordinates are at: N43 A.BCD, W77 E.FGH Step 1: Your first destination is at N43 13.463, W77 20.504. At this stop, look for a roadside sign with information about Ira Hill and look for the date. The last digit of the date is the “F”. Step 2: Go to N43 13.400, W77 19.152. Read the sign to find when the final burial took place. Add the digits of the date and subtract eleven. This is the “D”. Step 3: Next, go to N43.14.225, W77 16.448. Check the sign and look the name of a person. In the name how many times does the letter “K” appear? That number is the “C”. Step 4: The next stop is at N43 15.084, W77 16.487. Look for a roadside sign here and read the date. The last digit of the date is the “G”. Step 5: Next go to N43 15.043, W77 16.328 and find the stone marker for the first child born in Ontario. Find the year she was born and look at the final digit. Subtract two and that’s the “B”. Step 6: Go to N43 16.581, W77 15.874. Find the date of arrival. Add the digits to get the “A”. Step 7: Go to N43 16.649, W77 16.610. Stand facing the flagpole. Look at the ground stones and in the same row immediately to the left of Skinner - record the last name________________________. Step 8: Go to N43 15.470, W77 18.336 at the roadside sign. Find the name for step 7 and walk down the road a piece to find the historic building with that name. What year was it built? The first two digits are the “E”; the last digit is the "H". Step 9: Now you have all the information needed to find the final cache – the size of a 50 ammo can but it’s not! Be sure you place all contents back into their baggies, when you exchange items.
