In true Matata fashion this one is right on top of the higest peak of the Langeberg at 2075m asl
Could not resist this one :) Now here we have a true outdoor enthusiasts dream. The cache is fairly easy to spot however to get there is another story all together and will take you up to three days.
Best approach is from the east via Keerom or Simonskloof. Camp at Tierhoek (the very first settlement in the area, the ruins dating back to 1786) S 33deg 34.843min E 19deg 39.635min there is plenty of spring water too. You might have to leave your vehicle at S 33deg 34.295min E 19deg 40.947min and hike there (-1h) or use a 4x4... (40min)
The next day you follow the tracks up via Blomfontein to the Pylons. From there it's serious mountaineering up the SE ridge, yet no special gear needed. A 4-5 hour hike should get you to the summit. Breath taking views all along!!!
The route down is easiest strait to the East meeting the Keeroms stream right under the Pylon and back to the campsite.
For the easy(er) access and 4x4 lovers, there is a track - from NE - all the way up to Ben Heatlie S 33deg 33.016min E 19deg 35.384min from which it takes a short 2km hike across to the cache... however more info and access permission about this track you'll have to find out yourself :)
This micro cache will serve as "summit-book" too so if you'll find entries of geo-mugglers, please let us know via your on-line log, thanks.
For any bold attemptees we offer free accommodation at Simonskloof: S 33deg 36.953min E 19deg 43.649min or check out www.simonskloof.com
