Geocache Description:

This is one of three caches that gives you the coordinates to the final of the Wildlife Series caches. Part of the final's coordinates are on the front cover of the logbook. The site of this cache will bring you to a pull off of Hwy 20 where elk often hang out in the meadow. I think the best time to view the elk is in the late afternoon. It will be hard to get the cache when the elk are there, as lots of motorists pull over to see the elk. Please act innocent, take binoculars and scan the meadow periodically as you go to retrieve the cache. When we returned to place part of the final's coordinates on the logbook in the cache, there was a herd of elk in the meadow. About 35 elk and 9 of them were bulls! Near the end of September the elk will be in rut, and that is totally fascinating to watch and listen to--the prancing bulls bugling non stop and challenging each other. Don't forget your binoculars!
