Geocache Description:

On the link from the Musical Bumps trail to the Peak or the Roundhouse on top of Whistler Mountain. 3rd of 3 caches hidden in this area on Sunday September 3, 2006. Try to get them all, after getting the Whistler Peak micro cache. Will scan and upload map and photos soon.

Hard to rate this one for difficulty. If you're really hardy, you can hike up the 1500 m. from Whistler village (670 m elev) to the Peak (for that, I would rate the terrain as a 5). Most normal people will pay the $30 for the Gondola from the village to the Roundhouse Lodge (@1850 m), and then take the Peak Chair (via trail # 4 on the map) the last 310 m. to the summit (@2160 m).

It is then located on the connector trail from the Peak to Musical Bumps trail. This trail is called Burnt Stew, and goes via the Saddle. In fact, if you ride the chair to the Peak and then head directly to this cache without doing the spectacular new High Note trail, I would rate this no more than a 2.5 for overall difficulty.

Since Sept 23, 2007, cache is a camoed lock&lock Tupperware type container containing logbook and other trade items. It is located approx 500 m from the Musical Bumps trail, where you must leave the road and take the trail left.

Wear good hiking boots, bring water and food, wear good SUNSCREEN as there are no shaded areas.

After finding the cache, head east to the Musical Bumps trail, with several options from there back down to the valley (very long), the Roundhouse (gondola), back to the Peak (chair) or southewest along the High Note trail back to the Peak (Whistler Peak chair closes at 4 pm, the gondola at 5:30 pm. Don't miss them). Don't forget to look for the other caches placed in this area, including at the Whistler Peak and along the High Note trail.

Not available in winter due to the snow. Probably limited to July to October.
