Dirty Dave finally saw the light and his former night cache is now a regular cache to be sought during the day. The old log book remains for you to enjoy reading the logs of those who found it at night. I cleaned out the large ammo can (ammo can stolen, so now a plastic container) and got new readings for coordinates. If you found the night cache, you are encouraged to return and log a find for this new daytime cache. It will give you a different perspective to walk this trail during the day.
How to find the cache? Here are some instructions to get you on the easiest trails.
Park at the posted parking coordinates and head down the trail across the street. After a few tenths of a mile, you will see a trail to your left with a sign that reads, “Walking nature Trail.” Follow this trail for ~125’ to an intersection. Take the trail to your right. Follow this across a bridge and down 9 steps. There you will find hollow stump with the cache inside.
Good luck because satellite readings vary hugely from minute to minute under the thick tree cover.
