Geocache Description:

A puzzle cache around Newton, Northumberland, but not the one on the coast - this one happens to be not far from the village of Corbridge in the Tyne valley.

You've probably guessed the letter 'C' is very relevant in solving the puzzle. You will need to follow the instructions to identify the final location.

  • Go to the co-ordinates at the top of the page, look around, and say to yourself.....'I spy with my little eye, something beginning with 'C''.
  • When you recognize, or think you recognize the location, go for a closer look - you will realize you are at the correct spot by finding the word 'Commem', (yes...'Commem') when you arrive.
  • Here you will also find a number of similar looking objects beginning with the letter 'C'. The one you are looking for has a link to a well known family of Border reivers, (beginning with 'C', of course).
  • You get your numbers here for the final co-ordinates. Carefully select the correct numbers which are in the sequence A,B,C,D,E,F,G. The cache can be found at N54° FA.EBC, W 001° FG.BEF - a quiet location with a pleasing view.

I haven't provided a hint - if you get to the correct spot the hiding place should be fairly obvious.

You can check your final co-ordinates on Geochecker.com.

Good luck.
