While searching for this cache you will walk through oak hammocks and along the newly restored Banana Creek marsh. The trail will cross the marsh twice along an elevated trail. Many wading birds have been seen in this area, including wood storks, great egrets, white and glossy ibises and herons.
Park Hours: Daily from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. during standard time and from 5 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. during daylight-saving time.
Dogs are no longer allowed in the preserve because of the number of alligators present. This area may become wet during the rainy season. Don’t forget the insect repellent and water. Be careful and enjoy the area. Be advised that there are always risks associated with visiting nature preserves. Caution, alligators live here. It is illegal to harass wildlife, please observe from a distance.
