Geocache Description:


Located not too far from a two-track in in SWFWMD's Green Swamp East, the cache is an ammo can with room for a log book and trade items. BYOP.

Came across this cool old tree as we explored the area and it reminded us of the mythological Medusa. In Greek mythology, Medusa, was a monstrous female character whose hair was made of snakes and whose gaze could turn people to stone. Although this tree's branches are not made of snakes, they do bare a resemblance to Medusa's wild hair. ...And although we were not turned to stone as we gazed upon Medusa Tree, there is a suspicious pile of stone right nearby...some former geocacher perhaps?!?


Precautions: Hiking is allowed but not recommended during general gun hunting season (generally mid-November to mid-January). Caution is advised during archery, small game, and spring turkey seasons. Hikers should be aware of hunting dates.
