How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the posted coordinates.

There are two methods to determine the actual coordinates:

  1. calculate them from reference points below, or
  2. uncover the hints hidden on this page.

Pick your preference, the methodical or the mysterious.

Bullseye is located 300, 600 and 900 meters from the three points below (not necessarily in that order). You will have to determine, through logic and geometry, their respective distances and the cache location. The coords:

  • N31 58.258 W110 29.237
  • N31 58.154 W110 29.968
  • N31 57.830 W110 29.809

When you arrive at a solution, add up the individual digits of each part to make a pair of checksums. The latitude checksum should be 35; the longitude, 32.

The cache is on on State Trust Land, so a permit will be required. The posted coordinates mark the highway exit you will take to reach the cache; do not park in the breakdown lane! A short drive on a graded (2WD-friendly) dirt road will be required.

Original contents of the cache (a 7.62mm ammo box) included a Brunton compass, water-bottle carabiner, and Geocaching promo patch, pin and compass.
