Haunted Indiana is a series of caches
meant to bring cachers to local haunted locations across the
state. Started in Fort Wayne by Genoist, it is hoped this
series will one day span a great deal of the state, much like
the Indiana Spirit Quest caches. If you're interested in
hiding a cache for this series, just send Genoist an e-mail
through gc.com and he'll give you a number for your
cache.
This Haunted Indiana Cache brings you to Horace Mann School In
Huntington, Indiana. This School is a magnificent example of
Victorian Romanesque/Neo-Classic architecture and was built in
1895, remodeled in 1926. Luckily this building which stood vacant
for many years, was saved from the wrecking ball and now serves as
an upscale apartment building.
Many reports of paranormal activity--sounds and sightings of
children and adult ghosts have been received. Origin of the tthese
apparitions are unknown. In addition, there have been unexplained
instances of doors slamming and lights, TV's and radios turning
themselves on and off...
The cache is very small but easy to spot. Please don't visit
this residential neighborhood after dark. Site Photos c. 2006 by
