Take to the wilds of the Old Coach Road, and enjoy the inspiring
views towards Wolf Crags and across open moors to the high fells.
This is also one of the tough off-road sections of the C2C cycle
route. The track has county road status, which means it can be
accessed by motor vehicles - please follow the trail biking/driving
off-road code, posted on the gates at either end of the old coach
road. In wet/windy or wintry weather, conditions can be severe, so
be properly equipped.
Thanks to MeIsMook for this very funky cache container and most of
the contents, as this is "The Scenic Route" cache that got
misplaced. My family and I found it, and MeIsMook gave us
permission to place it in a new location to form a new cache.
It also contains an unactivated geocoin that Scaw generously
left on St Herbert's Island and which I picked up on my second
visit to the island - I thought it might make a good FTF prize, so
thank you Scaw!
