How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

Located at the Ellis fairgrounds on flat terrain but it will take a bit more than a stop and grab. A wheelchair can get to the spot but assistance will be required to retrieve it.

The cache contains a disclaimer sheet and log sheets along with a pen and pencil. The container is not one you would normally see but with some thinking you should be able to figure it out.

As a kid growing up in Ellis I spent many a summer day and evening at the fairgrounds during the fair. The Ellis Junior Free Fair held in late July has the reputation for having the longest running fair in the area. On a quiet day you can almost feel the presence of past history on these historic grounds. It was used for military camps, horse races, car races, baseball games dating back to the 1880's and many other community events. The old car racing track can still be seen to the east of the cache site.

Enjoy your visit.
